अभावप्रत्ययालम्बना वृत्तिर्निद्रा।

Abhāva-pratyayālambanā-vṛttiḥ nidrā
abhāva : absence, negation
pratyaya : cognition principle, cognition, causal principle
ālambanā : resorting to, supported by, leaning on, dependent on, having as a base
vṛttiḥ : modification, mental state, operation, fluctuation, activity
nidrā : sleep
Sutra Meaning :
Sleep is the modification or operation of the mind-field resorting to the cognition principle of absence or negation and to the cause thereof.
सूत्र १.१०
अभावप्रत्ययालम्बना वृत्तिर्निद्रा
पदच्छेद एवं शब्दार्थ –
अभाव : अभाव
प्रत्यय : प्रतीति, ज्ञान, या कारण
आलम्बना : अवलम्बन (ग्रहण) करने वाली
वृत्ति : वृत्ति (को)
र्निद्रा : निद्रा या सुषुप्ति (कहते हैं)॥
सूत्रार्थ –
(जाग्रत एवं स्वप्नावस्था की वृत्तियों के) अभाव की प्रतीति एवं उसके कारण का अवलम्बन (ग्रहण) करने वाली वृत्ति विशेष को निद्रा या सुषुप्ति कहते हैं।
Sutra 1.10
Abhāva-pratyayālambanā-vṛttiḥ nidrā
abhāva : assenza, negazione, non divenire insieme a qualcosa che diviene
pratyaya : cognizione
ālambanā : fattore supportativo
vṛttiḥ : modificazione
nidrā : sonno
Sutra Meaning :
Il sonno è la modificazione o il funzionamento del campo mentale che fa ricorso al principio della cognizione dell’assenza o negazione e alla sua causa.
Sutra 1.10
Abhāva-pratyayālambanā-vṛttiḥ nidrā
abhāva-: ausencia, sin existencia.
pratyaya-: cognición
ālambanā: basado en, recurriendo a, apoyado por, apoyado en
vṛttiḥ: operaciones, actividades, fluctuaciones, modificaciones.
nidrā: sueño
Sutra Meaning :
El sueño es la operación de la mente basada en la cognición de lo que no existe, lo ausente.

שינה היא תנודה המושתתת על הלך המחשבה של לא להיות
