Sutra 1.12

अभ्यासवैराग्याभ्यां तन्निरोधः।

Abhyāsa-vairāgyābhyāṃ tan-nirodhaḥ

 


Sutra 1.12
Abhyāsa-vairāgyābhyāṃ tan-nirodhaḥ

abhyāsa : (with) practice and
vairāgyābhyāṁ : with dispassion
tat : of those
nirodhaḥ : control (occurs)

Sutra Meaning :  
The control of those vṛttis occurs through practice and dispassion.

सूत्र १.१२
अभ्यासवैराग्याभ्यां तन्निरोधः

पदच्छेद एवं शब्दार्थ –
अभ्यास : अभ्यास
वैराग्याभ्यां : और वैराग्य (से)
त् : उनका (सभी वृत्तियों का)
निरोधः : निरोध (होता है)॥

सूत्रार्थ –
अभ्यास और वैराग्य से उन (सभी वृत्तयों) का निरोध होता है।
