अतीतानागतं स्वरूपतोऽस्त्यध्वभेदाद्धर्माणाम्।

Atītānāgataṁ svarūpato’styadhva-bhedād dharmāṇām
atīta : past (and)
anāgataṁ : that which has not yet come, future
svarūpataḥ : in fact
asti : exists, remains
adhva : (of) path (of time)
bhedāt : because of difference
dharmāṇām : of qualities, attributes, processes
Sutra Meaning :
(The vāsanās do not non-exist; their) past and future remains as reality, there being (a natural) differentiation of time-paths of the attributes and processes (dharmas).
सूत्र ४.१२
अतीतानागतं स्वरूपतोऽस्त्यध्वभेदाद्धर्माणाम्॥१२॥
पदच्छेद एवं शब्दार्थ –
अतीत + अनागतम् : अतीत और अनागत अवस्था वाला पदार्थ
स्वरूपतः + अस्ति : अपने स्वरूप में (स्थित, विद्यमान) होती है
अध्व + भेदात् : कालगत भेद होने पर (भी)
धर्माणाम् : धर्मों में,॥
सूत्रार्थ – धर्मों में कालगत भेद होने पर (भी) अतीत और अनागत अवस्था वाला पदार्थ अपने स्वरूप में (ही स्थित, विद्यमान) रहता है।

Sutra Meaning :
(I vāsanā non sono inesistenti; loro) passato e futuro rimane come realtà, c’è una differenziazione (naturale) dei percorsi temporali degli attributi e dei processi (Dharmas).
