Sutra 3.20
Na ca tat sālambanaṁ tasyāviṣhayī-bhūtatvāt
Sutra 3.20
Na ca tat sālambanaṁ tasyāviṣhayī-bhūtatvāt
na ca : not, however
tat : that (knowledge)
sālambanaṁ : is with, includes, the prop – the subject of cogitation
tasya : of that
a-viṣhayī-bhūtatvāt : (because of) not being the object
Sutra Meaning :
That knowledge of (another’s mind as in Sutra 19) does not include the subject of (that mind’s) current cogitation but only the totality of that mind-field because that was not the object of (this particular type of) samyama.
Sutra 3.20
